Richmond area members are encouraged to freely share what comes from their gardens but relevant, local commercial posts are allowed. When answering service or for-fee ads, please be aware of the potential for fraud.

Avoiding fraud

If you think you've been involved in a scam or fraud, contact one of the following:

  • FTC toll free hotline: 877-FTC-HELP (877-382-4357)
  • FTC online complaint form (http://www.ftc.gov)
  • Internet Fraud Complaint Center (http://www.ic3.gov)
  • Non-emergency number for your local police department.

If you believe that an item posted for sale on gardenshares.org is a part of a scam, please contact us. Be sure to include the URL to the item or the post ID number, located at the bottom of each post, in your message.

Play it safe. Deal locally and meet in person. Sending payments via wire funds, cashier checks, or third-party payment services are a bad idea.
